Listen to me, Detroit! The final Opening Day roster cuts are in, and the baseball universe is completely misreading the tea leaves. They see Willie Figueroa activated from the injured list and just nod along like it’s standard spring training housekeeping. Wake up! Figueroa being fully healthy and locked into the active roster means this outfield is about to put up video game numbers. And optioning Matt Gray to Triple-A Toledo? That isn’t a demotion, folks. That is the front office clearing the blast zone so Figueroa can launch moonshots without looking over his shoulder. Mark my words, this outfield is going to carry us to October!

But the real robbery is happening in the farm system, and I am calling it right now: we have the best pipeline in the sport. You think promoting Elijah Jenkins from High-A West Michigan to Double-A Erie is just standard development? Wrong! Jenkins is on the express train to the Show, and he’s going to tear up the Eastern League by June.

And don’t even get me started on the international market and the rookie ranks. We just signed third baseman Alfredo Perez out of the Dominican Republic, and my gut tells me he is the steal of the decade. Then you look at Mel Camunez. The scouts just named him the number 96 prospect in the LOTP and bumped him to Rookie League 23 Detroit. Number 96? What a joke! By the All-Star break, Camunez is going to be sitting in the top twenty, and everyone else will be asking how we hid him. The 2051 season belongs to the Tigers, and I won’t accept any arguments!
