Listen to me, and listen good, because I am planting the flag right here, right now. The front office just promoted catcher Julio Vasquez and shortstop Aidan Anderson from Double-A Erie to Triple-A Toledo, and the beat writers are treating it like standard roster churn. Fools! This is the dawn of the Toledo Saviors!

You think this is just about getting them reps at the highest minor league level? Dead wrong. My gut is screaming at a volume that shatters glass. Vasquez and Anderson are going to be wearing big league uniforms by the time the calendar flips to May. Mark it down in permanent ink. I don’t need to look at their minor league slash lines or watch their footwork on video. I feel it in my bones. The big league club is going to call them up, and these two absolute phenoms are going to single-handedly drag this entire roster to a World Series title.

Vasquez is going to call a game so flawless it makes our pitching staff look like a rotation of prime legends, while Anderson is going to turn the middle infield into an impenetrable black hole where opposing ground balls go to die. They are the missing pieces. The Toledo Saviors!

People will laugh. The so-called “experts” will tell me I’m rushing them, that they need a full year of seasoning in Toledo. Let them choke on their spreadsheets! When October rolls around and Vasquez is hoisting the trophy while Anderson is named World Series MVP, I’ll be the one laughing all the way to the bank. The parade route is already being paved.
